About Grace's Ceramics Journey
Hi! I'm Grace, a 23-year-old college grad, who has had a passion for ceramics since I was just 7! I love ceramics, I believe it is my true calling and I can't imagine what my life would have been like without it. It has helped me overcome many challenging times and grounded me. I am so far a fairly qualified ceramicist. I have taken ceramics classes all through elementary, middle, and high school. During high school, I applied to and won a total of 13 regional awards over 2 years and 1 National silver medal for my work from the Scholastic Arts and Writing awards. Shortly after that, I was asked to display the winning piece in MOCA Los Angeles and had my work shown to the artistic community here. That was such a deep honor for me. In college, I worked in an external studio from my university and created several pieces before COVID hit and I had to go home, where I was unfortunately not able to practice as much. In the summer of 2022, I was then honored with a 12-page spread about my work in the ART Habens magazine which took my work to an international level. I am still an emerging artist and I am endeavoring to be able to do an apprenticeship with a more senior ceramicist, but I would love it if my work could start to reach the homes of others! I plan to do this apprenticeship and then go back to school for graduate studies in art therapy and an MFA in ceramics. I would love to be able to use my art to help others discover their love for art and help them heal through their creations. Thank you for any support, anything I make will go towards graduate school and help me afford to aid others in healing in the future. Thank you so much!
